LACY YAGER is a pseudonym for Lacy Williams, who also writes Inspirational romance under that name. As the oldest of three siblings, Lacy exhibits most of the typical first-child characteristics and has always loved to boss around her younger siblings. Shadow Allegiance is part of a novella series called Unholy Alliance by Lacy Yager. If you have not read the first novella in the series Unholy Alliance then you may be a little confused without everything to fill in the back story. Shadow Allegiance is focused mostly on Rachel Campton. She goes to London to search for the vampire that threatens the safety of her youngest sister. While there she goes from being the hunter to the thing she hunts. Rachel may be faster, stronger, and can heal quicker, but she has to deal with blood lust that goes with it. Alex Wellington steps in to help Rachel under the orders to watch her for the general. He is supposed to be her nemesis, but Rachel learns that Alex is not who he seems. Shadow Allegiance is told from the characters different perspectives even the back characters. It gives you a better feel for what is going and really pulls you into to the story. This novella is action packed, full of mystery and suspense, romance, friendship and family. It has a little of everything to satisfy any reader. I cannot wait to see what happens next in this series.

The first thing I have to say about this book is that you need to be prepared to be swept away on this powerful emotionally nonstop roller coaster ride. VIP is not your average book; it is a constant turmoil of emotions that exploded across the page and pull you into the lives of Ysabelle and Sebastian. The more you learn about them the more addicted you become to finding out what happens. Ysabelle has had a really tough life that’s has made her the strong independent person she is, but has also closed her off to emotional attachments. Sebastian on the other hand has had an amazing childhood and comes from a wealthy background. He does experience a tragedy while his in college that eventually leads him down the path he is on when he meets Ysabelle. She is a temptation that he can’t refuse and that temptation turns into an addiction. This is not your run-of-the-mill love story. What happens between these two people will leave you at times infuriated, laughing, rolling your eyes with frustration, and yes even wanting to throw the book across the room or for me my computer. Nevertheless, there is not one thing that will make you want to put this book down and stop reading. M. Robinson has crafted a wonderfully written fast paced action packed book filled with raw emotions mixed with humor and some very hot sex scenes that leave you breathless. I cannot wait to see what she creates next for us to read.
